At Your Service
Earlier this year, I took part in an RTE production called At Your Service in Smarmore Castle, Ardee.
I did beaded jewellery classes for kids and Colette Mulholland did feltmaking with them.
This episode of At Your Service will be on RTE 1 next Sun. 25th October.
It's going to be the last one of the series so perhaps they are keeping the best one until last???
Check it out!!
I will be giving a number of short beaded jewellery making classes in Anderson's Cafe in Highlanes Gallery. The first class will be on Wed. 30th Sept. from 10.30 till 12.
The first couple of classes are nearly full, so get in there quick!
Contact Sheila Barry in Anderson's Cafe in Highlanes Gallery on 041 9803295 or email@example.com.
Fiona at Highlanes!
On Monday 22nd June, I will be working in the Craftmark shop in Highlanes Gallery, Drogheda. The shop is open from 10am till 5pm, so get there early! It’s located on Lawrence Street, and there’s a link on this site.
I will be doing another 2 days over the next few months, so watch out for more postings!
I’m looking forward to meeting any of you that are around, and will be giving a special once-off discount of 10% to anyone who mentions that they heard about it through the website!
Fiona Thornton Jewellery takes a break!
Due to the unexpectedly early arrival of the first addition of my family, I will be taking a break for jewellery making for the next few months! There will be a small selection my jewellery available for Christmas presents in Bridge Street Studios for December but Craftmark @ Highlanes in Drogheda and Mia Mullen Jewellery in Carlingford will have an excellent range of extablished ranges as well as a couple of new exciting designs! If anyone is going further afield, there is also a selection of my jewellery in Red Aesthetic in Kilkenny and Paddon & Paddon in Eastbourne in England.
I would like to thank all my customers and invite everyone to visit Craftmark @ Highlanes and Mia Mullen's shop over Christmas and buy, buy, buy!
I also have one-off pieces in 'Mistletoe and More' in The Basement Gallery in Dundalk and in 'Rings' in SpaceCraft in Belfast if anyone want's to see more unusual craft.
Talk to you in 2009!
'Craft Meets The Catwalk'
Following on from the success of last year's fashion show in Highlanes Gallery, Craftmark at Highlanes are organising another fashion show. But this one will be bigger, better and even more fabulous than last year's!
It will take place in Highlanes Gallery on Thursday 20th November and tickets will be like gold dust! The location only allows for 300 guests, so get your spake in early! Contact Ciara at www.louthcraftmark.com for more info on tickets. The goodie bags will be worth it alone! Watch this space for a list of famous guest designers from the world of fashion and craft.
I will be updating this news item over the next few weeks.
I recently participated in an exhibition of the work of a new group of jewellers, called '1st Editions'. It took place in Space Craft in Belfast and proved to be an amazing collection of jewellery from local artists in Belfast, Dundalk and everywhere in between!
As a follow on from this, I will also have my jewellery on display (and for sale!) in another exhibition in Space Craft beginning at the end of October. This exhibition will be called 'Rings' and will showcase the work of over 30 jewellers from Ireland and the UK, all of whom designed one, or a set of rings especially for the show. I will put up final dates, etc over the next few weeks.
